Mental Health Support for Staff

At Integral Workplace Wellness we understand that supporting your staff and creating a positive Mental Health focused culture requires much more than simply training your staff. We also appreciate that you may wish to start supporting your staff now, before you have the time and resources to commence a programme of First Aid for Mental Health training. The support we offer is highly personal and individualised, it is not merely app based however our support services can and do integrate with any current wellness plan you may already have implemented. Our support remains solely focused on the Mental Health & Wellbeing of all your staff. It is for this reason that we have created three specific Staff Support services to support your business & staff completely.

Proactive Support - Mental Health Check-In & Coaching
Created to support the Mental Health & Wellbeing of staff from all Businesses & Industries

The Proactive Support service is just that, we conduct a personalised monthly Mental Health Check-In with each member of staff to connect with them, to check how they are coping and essentially ensure their Mental Wellbeing is healthy.

Business owners, Managers and Staff find this service incredibly useful as it gives staff an opportunity to talk openly at the point of their Check-in. It also offers staff the peace of mind knowing they can book a personalised Coaching Session throughout the month should any challenges arise. Through Coaching, all staff, including management are provided with a supportive outlet to discuss any challenges they may be facing and to receive tangible tools to help them cope in the present and the future.

Should any staff member experience a mental health crisis, they will also have priority access to contact our highly experienced coaches so they can receive immediate help, support and strategies to help them manage the issue at hand.

The Mental Health needs of businesses and staff have been a widely discussed topic even well before we entered the pandemic. We know from speaking to our clients on a regular basis they appreciate the need to take the Mental Health of their staff seriously.

Benefits for both staff and the business from the Proactive Support service are:

  • Staff feel valued and appreciated as individuals

  • Identifies any challenge, we work with the staff member to address it before it impacts the staff member personally and the business

  • Valued staff remain in their job longer, reducing attrition rates, in turn saving costs*

  • Reduces the rates of both staff absenteeism & presenteeism thereby increasing productivity*

  • Return on investment in Mental Health at work is £5.20 for every £1 spent *

The Proactive Support service is fully flexible as our aim is to partner with you, to be an extension of your business offering a personalised service for your staff. We aim to balance your needs as a business with the personal needs of each staff member therefore our brief time with them is clear, personable and aims to offer understanding and a hearing ear to ensure your staff feel heard and know they have further support should they need it. We also check in with your management team periodically to discuss your business needs and to understand changes the business may be going through that may impact staff. We know from experience this service is invaluable as it helps retain staff who might otherwise be in a situation to either resign or sign off on long term sickness.

The Proactive Support service is completely flexible for your benefit and as such is offered as follows:

  • On a monthly rolling basis

  • With no lengthy contracts

  • Ability to cease with just 30 days’ notice

  • With no monthly retainer

We appreciate this is a cost to your business, therefore we partner with you to provide a quality service, whilst being mindful to be both effective & efficient with the aim to keep your costs reasonable.

Included in the Proactive Support Service:

  • Each member of staff will receive a Monthly Mental Health Check-In (via phone) with one of our highly experienced Coaches

  • Direct access to personalised Coaching sessions to discuss any areas of concern to them

  • Priority access to one of our highly experienced Coaches for any staff member experiencing a Mental Health crisis

When people have the tools to manage their daily stresses, the support to cope with emotions and a hearing ear, they become more
empowered and capable of dealing with the ups and downs of life.

How much will it cost my business?

The short answer is, it depends on the following:

  • The health of your current workplace culture

  • If you have implemented Mental Health awareness into your workplace culture

  • Past & present changes to your workforce and / or business structure

  • Commitment of management to Mental Health Awareness

  • Connection of management to staff members

  • Current emotional health & happiness of your staff members

Based on our current client data we find in the initial months on our Proactive Support service that staff members require a little more assistance, especially due to the changes they’ve experienced over the past 18 months.

Once we are over an initial ‘firefighting’ stage, usually by month 2 or 3 the individual needs of each staff member settles, in part to us equipping them with tools for their present & future. In time your cost per staff member reduces and levels. Starting costs per staff member are at approximately £3.42 pcm to £6.92 pcm.

How do I get my business started on the Proactive Support service?

It’s much simpler that you likely imagine. We just need you to complete 2 forms, a Registration form and your Staff List form so we can set you up on our database. We know you are busy so we assist you with integration as much as possible, therefore we provide you with an email template and an introduction document to us and our service. You then have everything you need to communicate to your staff members that you are investing in them and their Mental Health and so they know what to expect from us and our service. Once the above forms and communications have been completed we provide you with a service commencement date, this is the date we will start calling your staff to check in with them. As mentioned previously, our aim is to partner with you to support your staff and your business.

Ongoing Support - Monthly Membership
For businesses who have trained their staff in First Aid for Mental Health & wish to provide additional support for their Mental Health First Aid Champions

The Ongoing Support Membership is aimed to support your Level 2 & Level 3 First Aiders for Mental Health in the workplace. These staff members are the Champions for Mental Health within your business as they are the first port of call for all staff members who may be struggling with their Mental Health.

Due to this responsibility it means they are likely to deal with challenging situations and therefore need extra support, both emotionally & practically. Additionally, providing these key staff members with continual training, upskilling and peer support will assist them to perform this role exceptionally for the benefit of their colleagues and the business.

Included in the Ongoing Support Monthly Membership:

  • A monthly Mental Health Check-In giving access to 30 mins of bespoke coaching or upskilling

  • Membership to a private Facebook Group for Level 2 & Level 3 First Aiders for Mental Health to gain support

  • Access to a Monthly Mental Health meeting hosted by the Directors of Integral Workplace Wellness focused on support & continued training

We aim to support your staff by way of tools, added training and via a support network of other trained First Aiders for Mental Health to create a community of likeminded individuals that are passionate about Mental Health Awareness and improving workplace culture.

Reactive Support - Bridging the Gap
For businesses who have commenced training their staff in First Aid for Mental Health and require temporary support

We appreciate that the structure of your business may mean you do not have any staff either willing or able to step into the Level 2 or Level 3 First Aider for Mental Health role. Whilst all other staff may have received Level 1 Awareness training, you may find your workforce without a First Aider for Mental Health, leaving a gap that needs to be bridged.

As Level 3 First Aiders for Mental Health, we at Integral Workplace Wellness can step into this role for your staff to bridge the gap temporarily. We will then work with you & your staff to train them in time to step into the First Aider for Mental Health role.

Included in the Reactive Support Service:

  • A Priority contact with one of our First Aiders for Mental Health to deliver initial First Aid for Mental Health support to any staff member experiencing a Mental Health crisis and, if required, guidance to their line manager to support them further in the short term

  • A follow up Coaching call to the staff member to ensure they are signposted and cared for according to their needs

  • Direct access to personalised Coaching sessions to discuss any areas of concern to them

  • Partnering with your business to train and skill selected staff to step into the First Aider for Mental Health role
